Our Ethical Approach
At Cumberland Cane Corsos, breeding is more than producing puppies — it’s a responsibility. My journey with working breeds began with a deep respect for their history, strength, and loyalty. Over the years, I’ve learned that raising Cane Corsos isn’t just about looks or pedigrees; it’s about protecting the integrity of the breed and ensuring that every puppy is given the best possible start in life.
Health & Genetic Responsibility
I believe that no litter should be bred without careful planning. Every parent dog is health tested and genetically screened to reduce the risk of inherited issues. Puppies are raised with veterinary oversight, regular deworming, and vaccinations, so they leave here strong, healthy, and protected.
Early Development & Socialisation
I take an active role in shaping each puppy’s future. From the first days of life, puppies are introduced to Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), family handling, sound desensitisation, and structured play. By the time they go home, they’ve already been exposed to crate training, potty training foundations, and family life. This creates well-rounded, confident companions.
Lifetime Commitment
Bringing a Cane Corso into your family is a 10–12+ year commitment, and I believe breeders should stand behind their dogs for life. If at any point an owner cannot keep their puppy, I will always assist in rehoming to ensure no Corso ends up in the wrong hands.
Why This Matters
Too often, dogs are bred carelessly, without attention to health, temperament, or long-term welfare. My ethical approach is simple:
-
Quality over quantity — I only breed when it improves my program.
-
Transparency — families are kept informed every step of the way.
-
Care — every puppy is raised in my home, not a kennel.
When you choose a puppy from Cumberland Cane Corsos, you’re choosing a breeder who values health, integrity, and responsibility above all else.
