Wizard of Ozzy is our 2 year old stud. We have recently started taking applications for his services. Contact us if you're interested in using him in your program.

Here at Cumberland Cane Corsos, we provide dual registered, AKC/ ICCF puppies from true Italian working lines, recognized for their outstanding family temperaments and natural abilities to protect.

We have very limited litters to guarantee the highest quality, dedicating plenty of time and care to each puppy.

Frankie- My Heart Dog

Frankie, my cherished rescue Presa Canario, was my everything. He stood by me through life’s hardest challenges, teaching me the loyalty, strength, and comfort that only a dog can provide. During that time, I worked with a rescue dedicated to Presas, Cane Corsos, and Pitbulls. That experience gave me a deep respect for these powerful working breeds and taught me how essential responsible ownership and breeding truly are.

From Frankie, I learned that every dog deserves a forever home. That is why every puppy from my program goes home with a lifelong promise: if circumstances ever prevent you from keeping your dog, I will assist in rehoming them to a responsible and prepared family.

When Frankie grew older, cancer eventually took him from me. Though losing him was heartbreaking, his legacy continues to inspire me. He is the reason I began working with Cane Corsos and why I emphasize health testing, careful pairing, and owner education. My mission is to honor Frankie by raising strong, healthy, and well-adjusted Cane Corsos—ensuring they are placed with families who understand and appreciate everything these incredible dogs bring into our lives.

Early Puppy Development & Socialization

At Cumberland Cane Corsos, we believe raising stable, confident Cane Corsos starts the moment they are born. From the first day of life until the time they go to their forever homes, our puppies experience structured care, stimulation, and socialization to prepare them for family life.

Weeks 1–2: Foundation & Handling

  • Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) exercises from days 3–16 (gentle handling, tactile stimulation, mild stress exercises shown to boost confidence and resilience later in life).

  • Daily gentle handling so each puppy becomes comfortable being touched, held, and cared for.

Weeks 3–4: Awareness Stage

  • Puppies begin exploring outside the whelping box in a safe playpen.

  • Introduction to different surfaces (carpet, tile, turf, rubber mats) to build sensory confidence.

  • Early exposure to household sights, sounds, and gentle family handling.

Weeks 4–6: Building Confidence

  • Play sessions with toys of different textures and sounds (squeaky, crinkle, rope).

  • Gentle sound desensitisation: recorded thunderstorms, fireworks, traffic, and doorbells introduced at low volume and paired with positive experiences.

  • Short separation from littermates to encourage independence and reduce stress when leaving for new homes.

  • Start of crate introduction with door open.

Weeks 6–8: Socialisation & Resilience

  • Puppies play outside (clean, secure patio/yard) for fresh air and environmental learning.

  • Introduction to collars, short leash sessions, and supervised crate naps.

  • Family and visitor interaction with people of different ages, voices, and appearances.

  • Daily exposure to everyday household activities: vacuums, TV, doorbells, kitchen sounds.

  • Basic early training — learning to follow people, respond to voices, and begin potty training.

Health & Exposure Agreement Cumberland Cane Corsos takes every possible measure to protect the health and safety of our puppies while they are in our care. Puppies are raised on our property, away from outside dogs, and are not exposed to public areas or unfamiliar animals. All puppies receive age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming while with us to help reduce the risk of exposure to illness. Once a puppy leaves our property, we cannot guarantee or control the environments they are exposed to. Therefore, we do not provide refunds or replacements for illness, injury, or death resulting from exposure to contagious diseases (including, but not limited to, parvovirus, hookworms, coccidia, or other preventable illnesses). We encourage all new owners to practice safe socialization by gradually introducing their puppy to new experiences and people while protecting them from high-risk environments. Until your puppy is fully vaccinated, please: Do not allow your puppy on the ground in public places (parks, pet stores, rest stops, etc.). Do not allow contact with unvaccinated dogs or animals whose health status is unknown. Schedule follow-up vaccinations with your veterinarian as recommended. Transition & Adjustment Guidance Bringing your new puppy home is exciting, but it’s also a big change for them. Please understand that your puppy may be scared, shy, or overwhelmed on the first day or two in their new environment — this is completely normal. A sudden change in food or water can upset your puppy’s stomach and may cause loose stool or diarrhea. We recommend continuing the same food we have been feeding and gradually transitioning over several days if you plan to change brands. Additionally, the stress of travel or a new environment can affect appetite, sleep, and bathroom habits temporarily. Provide a quiet, comfortable space and allow your puppy time to adjust at their own pace. With patience, consistency, and love, your puppy will quickly begin to feel safe and settle into their new home.
